Gail Storm is a New York based singer/songwriter/pianist. Her blues stylings embrace the root music she cherishes and provide a refreshing frame to other genres. Gail draws her musical influences from traditionally based performers and modern-day artists as well. Storm borrows from classic jazz, traditional blues, and R&B; Fats Waller, Louis Jordan, Dinah Washington, Anita O'Day, Bonnie Raitt, and Amy Winehouse are just some of the many artists Storm admires. Many of her fans compare her to a combination of modern-day performers Diana Krall and Marcia Ball, with shades of Amy Winehouse. The "Storm" is known to have a “heavy left hand” as demonstrated by her strong, rhythmic bass lines-particularly evident in the “boogie woogie”. Repertoire ranges from traditional blues and boogie woogie to swingin' classic jazz standards, ballads, pop, and originals thrown into the mix. It is the blues stylings that provide the frame for Storm's renditions.

The New Students perform original songs in an eclectic blend of folk, roots, bluegrass and Americana traditions. Tight three-part vocal harmonies, skilled acoustic instrumentation, and thoughtful lyrics make up their signature sound that has been delighting East Coast audiences for over a decade. Together they have recorded three studio albums of original songs and one “almost live” album recorded remotely while in quarantine in 2020. In coffee houses, concert halls and Broadway stages, the members of The New Students have collaborated with the likes of Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul and Mary), George Grove (The Kingston Trio), and Elvis Costello. Combining poetry with conscience, humor with integrity, and—most of all—classic with modern, The New Students evoke the pioneering spirit of the 1960s. Truly, they are new students of an old school.

Inda Eaton's warm humor, free-spirited emotionality, and literate flair make her songs feel as comfy as a favorite pair of jeans. Inda’s vocals have a whiskey and honey-tinged raspy quality that’s both stirring and soothing. Her stories and musings feel instantly resonate. Inda’s songwriting spans fist-pumping anthemics and bucolic balladeering, and it embraces a wide swath of influences, including country, classic rock, folk, and pop. In a career that spans 8 albums in 20 years, and a blur of endless tours, for her latest album, Shelter In Place, Inda opted for once to stay put. The 11-song record was literally tracked in the Springs, New York-based artist’s backyard. In the stillness of the album writing process, she sifted through her scrapbook of travels and created a Huck Finn-spirited collection of story-rich heartland rock songs brimming with adventure, and personal reflection.

In the latter part of the last century, GENE CASEY departed New York City and its Punk rock/New wave scene for Long Island’s East End. There, he formed the Lone Sharks, “the house band of the Hamptons,” where bars were plentiful and audiences – both the local and the celebrated – were robust and loyal. Over the course of the next few decades Gene and the evolving line-up of Sharks “played – and tore up – every roadhouse, bar, and honky tonk from Manhattan to Montauk” (Bop Magazine), sharing the bill and backing legendary roots rock & roll acts as Wanda Jackson, the Band, Bo Diddley, Sleepy LaBeef, NRBQ, and the Ventures.
Gene’s original music met with great acclaim with local and international indie radio play. Several of his roots-drenched songs have been used in “A Prairie Home Companion” and on the soundtracks to television and feature films, including “Justified” and “Sons of Anarchy” ; the 2012 thriller “The Tall Man” starring Jessica Biel, the 2013 release “The Killing Season” starring Robert DeNiro, and Rob Reiner’s “Being Charlie.”
In 2014 Gene and the Lone Sharks were inducted into the Dan’s Papers “Best of the Best” Hall of Fame, having been honored over 20 times. A year later Gene, “the premier barroom troubadour of Eastern Long Island” (author Josh Alan Friedman) received the Long Island Sound Award by the L.I. Music Hall of Fame, “for contributions to the Island’s musical landscape.”

These investments are fueling Port Jeff’s evolution into a livelier, greener, and more connected village.
