Turtle Park
A smaller neighborhood playground, ideal for young children. During warmer months enjoy its water features for the kids.
Mayor Jeanne Garant Harborfront Park
Robert T. Strong Way, Port Jefferson, Open 7am-dusk, includes waterfront paved walkways, Village pier, Jill Ness-Russell Performance Stage, various events throughout the year, a central gathering space with open lawns, benches, public art, and a summer concert series.
Texaco Park
Texaco Avenue, Port Jefferson, Open 7am-dusk, includes half court basketball, pickleball court, pal grounded equipment for children aged 5-12.

Beaches
Port Jefferson is home to two scenic public beaches—East Beach and West Beach—each offering their own charm and amenities.
East Beach is a local favorite for swimming, sunbathing, and peaceful walks along the Sound. With a wide sandy shoreline and seasonal lifeguards, it’s ideal for families and beachgoers looking for a relaxing coastal experience.
West Beach features a mix of sandy and rocky areas, shaded picnic tables, barbecue grills, and unobstructed sunset views. It’s perfect for casual gatherings, exploring, or launching a paddleboard from shore.
Both beaches are open seasonally with lifeguards on duty from 10 AM to 6 PM, mid-June through Labor Day. Resident parking is available with a valid permit.

Kayak & Paddleboard Access:
East Beach has a gradual launch area suitable for experienced paddlers.
Harborfront Park near the marina offers convenient water access for kayaks and paddleboards, especially during high tide. Rentals are available seasonally from local vendors.
